frauds in cash certificates -- proposal to withdraw the service from town post offices

in view of increasing trends of loss/fraud cases especially in cash certificates , a proposal is under consideration to withdraw the service of sale and discharge of cash certificates from small town post offices particularly from those post offices where the business has been negligible . while processing the same distance of such proposed post offices from other nearby post office and overall convenience of the customers is also taken into consideration. all are requested to offer their comments on this proposal at the earliest.

stamp design competion for children

stamp design contest for 2008 will be held all over the country on children's day i.e. on 14-11-2008 at divisional headquarters. 3 groups of participants and the themes for each would be as follows:
group 1 - upto 4th standard -- 1. my birthday party 2. my favourite sport 3. my favourite animal
group 2 - 5 to 8th standard-- 1. preservation of environment 2. education for all
group 3-- 8 to 12th standard-- 1. care for disabled and old 2. avoid child labour.
first prize in each category in each region will be sent for participation in national competition.

nregs -- change of procedure --views called for

as per revised procedure, since withdrawl from workers wage accounts is allowed only on production of wage slip , the full amount entered in wage slip has to be withdrawn by the beneficiary at the timeof withdrawl and that no part withdrawl is allowed. now circle office is calling for views from the field , in view of the fact that some wage seekers may wish to retain some amounts in their accounts and payment of wages through posb accounts is to inculcate the habit ofsavings/insurance etc among the wage earners. all are requested to offer their views.

bonus -- ceiling enhanced -- orders recd

ceiling for calculation of productivity linked bonus has been raised to rs 3500-00(emoluments per month) for regular central government employees only w.e.f 1-4-2006 from the year 2006-07 onwards. orders were received today.

do pli exam postponed

do pli 1/3rd quota exam scheduled to be held on 19-10-08 is postponed until further orders.

pli related instructions

w.e.f 05-11-2008 new web based software for pli will be introduced in a.p. circle. once data is migrated to new software credit positions cannot be updated. this will cause difficulty in settlement of claims. hence it is essential to update the data before introduction of new software. all the divns are directed to submit all pending schedules plus current schedules by25-10-2008.

emo installation

the special efforts taken by the divl heads and sys administrators resulted in registration of all computerized offices except 4. my appreciations to all concerned in this regard. since emo is very good service let us make it a grand success.

booking of regd articles with late fee in MBCs.

The factility for booking of regd articles at mail office on payment of prescribed late fee is available with the intention to give benefit of immediate despatch of articles. mail business centres are distinct from rms mail offices. it is clarified that facility for booking of regd articles on payment of lalte fee will continue to be provided at the counters as usual,  if mail business centres are functioning in rms offices. the facility of retail booking of regd articles across the counter will not be provided where mail business centers function independently.

confirmation exam for p.a./s.a. will be conducted on 2.11.2008 from 1000 hrs to 1300hrs.

upgradation of hardware in speedpost centres

it is proposed to upgrade the existing hardware in speed post centres and  speed net. divisional heads are directed to intimate the funds/hardware requirement along with purpose and justification,speed post centre wise to r.o.kurnool by 13/10/08.

Volunteers called for from ASPs to work in directorate

willingness of ASPs having knowledge of vigilance matters and computer for posting in the dte for a period of 3 months is called for. applications thro proper channel.

LGO exam will be conducted on 27-12-08. Last date for submission of applications by the candidates is 21-11-08

BONUS FOR 2007-08

Productivity linked bonus for 07-08 equiavalent of 60 days to the employees of dept of posts in gr d and gr c and non gaz group b  was sanctioned. ex gratia payment of bonus to gds who are regularly appointed after observing all appointment formalities and adhoc payment of bonus to casual laboureres who have been conferred temp status are also to be paid equivalent to allowances/wages respectively for 60 days for the same period. In case of drawal of salary exceeding rs 2500 in any month , the emoluments shall be restricted to rs 2500 per month for the purpose of calculation of bonus.
